This weather station and website was established in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA in December of 2006 and runs continuously - apart from the rare restart or hardware update.
The station is powered by a La Crosse WS-2308 weather station with the data being collected every 8 seconds, processed by Virtual Weather Station software and automatically transferred to the website every few seconds. WU Rapid Fire is then used to update the current conditions in near real time without the need to reload/refresh your browser.
The rest of the data on the weather pages is updated with Virtual Weather Station by Ambient every few minutes. Other pages vary in their update times. Data is sent to Weather Underground, Ham Weather and Weather For You every 30 minutes. This station is also a member of, World Weather Station and
Rocky Mountain Weather Network.
The station comprises of wind vane, anemometer, rain gauge, thermometer, hygrometer and barometer sensors situated in optimal positions for the highest accuracy possible.
The values are reset at midnight MDT.
